The Issue

The bus service on Weelsby Road has been a lifeline for many residents, allowing easy access to town, Cleethorpes, and the hospital. Sadly, over recent years, this critical service has been reduced, making it increasingly difficult for people to commute for work, appointments, leisure activities, and essential services. This reduction has disproportionately affected those without other means of transportation, including the elderly, students, working professionals, and families.

The impact of this cut has been felt deeply within the community. Many residents have found themselves isolated, unable to access the amenities and services they rely on. This is not only a matter of convenience but a significant barrier to health, employment, and social inclusion. For many, the bus is the only way to reach Grimsby town centre, Cleethorpes beach, and the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.

The Transport for the North has emphasized the importance of public transport in reducing congestion and pollution. Restoring the regular bus service on Weelsby Road aligns with their vision for a connected and thriving Northern England.

We propose a return to the former schedule, which serviced our community adequately. By doing so, we can improve the quality of life for Weelsby Road residents and support economic growth in Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

We urge the North East Lincolnshire Council and Stagecoach to consider the needs of their residents and take immediate action to reinstate the regular bus service.

Please support us in our effort to restore this essential service by signing the petition. Your signature can make a difference and help bring back the accessibility we desperately need.
