RESTORE PUBLIC PARKING AT NW WEST UNION & STEWART LN

RESTORE PUBLIC PARKING AT NW WEST UNION & STEWART LN
The Issue
Washington county has taken an outrageous and unwarranted step by installing “No Parking” signs along West Union Road. Prior to this heavy-handed intervention, convenient and legal on-street parking was readily available for residents, visitors, and daily commuters.
NW West Union Road & Stewert LN, located in North Plains, OR 97133, serves a growing number of families, residents, visitors, and local businesses. Adequate parking is essential for commuity, safe drop-off and pick-up, and general mobility along this key corridor. Recent changes whether due to pedestrian path construction, road improvements, public works development, have significantly reduced available parking spaces, resulting in:
*Overflow parking on narrow residential streets, increasing risks to children and pedestrians.
*Traffic congestion and safety concerns during peak hours.
*Difficulties for families with young children, elderly residents, or individuals with mobility needs.
*Reduced accessibility for local emergency services.
*These conditions compromise community safety and conflict with the City of North Plains’ commitment to a family-friendly and accessible environment.
The parking area has become empty and is not being utilized by anyone!
