Cauley Creek Park was built as a public park for the enjoyment of all residents of Johns Creek and surrounding communities. However, the City of Johns Creek has recently awarded an exclusive field use permit to the Johns Creek Sports Association, operated by Georgia Express Soccer. This decision has effectively privatized the turf field, blocking access for the general public every day until 8:00 pm. 

Public parks should remain open and accessible to the community, not leased out to private organizations for near-exclusive use. Families, kids, and recreational athletes should have equal opportunity to use the field, just as intended when the park was developed.

We call on the City of Johns Creek to:

• Reassess and modify the permit to allow regular open access to the public.
• Implement fair scheduling that ensures community members and youth sports programs can enjoy the field.
• Prioritize public access in public spaces!
