Progress is stalled, the seed is planted.

Hi everyone. Did you know I saw some city contractors polishing the street names in the pavement? Right next to pot holes. What an… amazing use of funding. John Mauro’s got his shiny sidewalks while my homeless friends sleep outside.

The newspapers and housing non profits are fully aware of allll the emails I’ve sent to my he city pointing out both humanitarian and regulatory flaws. They don’t talk to me. Sadly I’m the only one with a bite.

When I went to snap this photo I think I saw Faber (very well dressed) walk past without taking the time to engage one of the loudest activists in town (me, in Goodwill clothes).

I also inquired with the city about recent homeless deaths this year… no response. And still not a response on the Land Boat plan or the road to ADU plan. Two amazing framework that a few folks at the WA Department of Commerce love.

So. What is the paradigm here? Clearly it seems prestige and status are the values of our city. Our “professionals” don’t want to work risk their careers. I don’t see any decision making that is in touch with the reality of people in my position, or worse.

So… let this be a controversy that makes you feel powerful and in the right. Enough with institutional neglect and political oppression. Come down to the April 5th protest on Sims way between the co-op and Safeway between 1-2. I’ll be there.

Print some QR codes for the campaign, and pass them around. By the way. If I were mayor I’d let people post their small business ads, thoughts, and art to telephone poles. I’d open up the memorial field downtown for lovers to picnic at midnight. Ah. But we can’t just go breaking rules now. Can we? Give me the power to change them.

That’s how we make change. I’ll step into this slowly and without burning out. I’ll do this at my pace so I think things through. The more support I see the more l will be able to point at the need for change.

And… I do claim to be that visionary leader. The big changes in federal ideology are going to affect us here. School lunch has been cut and the food bank as well. Put me in charge to open up unused city property for community gardens… our only fear there is the deer.
