It's been several weeks since I have shared an update on our campaign to restore the historic name of the Tullamarine War Memorial Hall.

Firstly, I would like to sincerely thank the team at the Broadmeadows Museum, particularly Curator Mark Moore, for their outstanding support of this campaign. The museum has been actively assisting with collecting petition signatures and helping to raise awareness about the importance of preserving and recognising our local history.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the museum, where Mark generously provided a fascinating tour of the collection. We also enjoyed a wonderful conversation about local history, community heritage, and the importance of ensuring that significant memorial sites are recognised and remembered for future generations. The Broadmeadows Museum continues to play an invaluable role in preserving the stories that help shape our community identity.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Ken White and the members of the Glenroy RSL Sub-Branch, who have gone above and beyond in supporting this campaign. Through their efforts, more than 200 signatures have been collected in support of restoring our hall's original name.

This level of support demonstrates that our campaign is about much more than a sign on a building. It is about recognising the service and sacrifice of local veterans, honouring the vision of the residents who built the hall as a living memorial, and ensuring that future generations understand the significance of Tullamarine's important community building.

I would also like to express my appreciation for the Glenroy RSL Sub-Branch and the wonderful work they undertake throughout the year. Their commitment to supporting veterans, commemorating service, educating younger generations, and strengthening community connections is truly commendable. Our community is fortunate to have such a dedicated organisation preserving the Anzac spirit and supporting those who have served.

To everyone who has signed, shared, promoted, or supported this petition, thank you. Every signature helps demonstrate to Hume City Council that our community values its history and wants to see the Tullamarine War Memorial Hall recognised once again for what it was always intended to be: a lasting tribute to the men and women who served our nation.

Together, we are making a difference!
