I am Johnny Reese Jr., and this petition is a deeply personal appeal to restore my rights to bear arms in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 2923.14, alongside the foundational principle laid out in Article I, Section 2 of the Ohio Constitution. These legal frameworks recognize that all political power is inherent in the people and emphasize the citizens' right to alter or reform their government to ensure equal protection and benefit. On August 25th, 2008, the Lucas County Courts revoked my rights. This revocation has been a significant barrier, persisting despite my present accomplishments and contributions to society.

Since that time, I have turned my life around, dedicating myself to educational and community-focused endeavors. I hold three degrees—one from Columbus State in Entrepreneurship, a business degree from the University of Toledo, and a Master's degree in Human Resources Management. My professional journey has led me to establish the Toledo Urban Youth Sports League, a nonprofit aimed at mentoring children and promoting behavioral health through sports. Additionally, I am a licensed teacher and proud owner of an insurance agency in Ohio, where I actively contribute by shaping educational and financial futures.

My past should not overshadow my present contributions and future aspirations. The current situation not only affects me but diminishes the example I aim to set for the youth and community I serve daily. I ask you to consider that individuals can change, grow, and contribute positively when given a second chance. The legal system should reflect that belief, and my record should no longer hinder my civic rights.
