Restore McLane High School JROTC Program

Restore McLane High School JROTC Program
The Issue
The McLane High School JROTC program was more than just an extracurricular activity; it was a family. Having been a part of this remarkable community for 31 years , I know firsthand the positive impact it had on our students and staff. The sudden removal of this program has left me and my fellow cadets completely disheartened, as it was taken away abruptly without any explanation from the administration. This has affected not only the cadets but also the broader community that cherished its presence.
JROTC at McLane High School provided a structured environment where students could learn valuable life skills, leadership qualities, and establish lifelong friendships. Many students relied on this program as a guiding force, helping them foster discipline, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility. It was a cornerstone of our school culture, supporting students to prepare for future challenges and opportunities.
The disappearance of the JROTC program is a significant loss to our school and goes against the values of promoting educational and personal development. In a time where young people need more guidance and support, shutting down such an instrumental program is a step backward. Programs like JROTC have been shown to improve student engagement, graduation rates, and community spirit.
Our goal is to save this essential program and reinstate it at McLane High School in Fresno, CA. We're calling on the school administration and School District to reconsider their decision and recognize the substantial benefits JROTC brings to its participants and the school community. We believe in the program's mission and are determined to fight for its return.
We need your support. By signing this petition, you can help us advocate for the reinstatement of the McLane High School JROTC. Every signature counts in demonstrating community support for this invaluable program that empowers and nurtures our youth. Together, let's make a difference and bring back McLane High School JROTC.
