I am deeply passionate about the game League of Legends. As a dedicated player, I respect and cherish the rich history and principled design that Riot Games, the developer, instills in the game. One of these features was the original Teleport summoner spell icon, which was an ingrained part of the game's charm and visual language. However, Riot recently transformed this iconic image into a design representing Cristiano Ronaldo (CR7) in his familiar goal-celebrating pose.

This may seem like a simple aesthetic change, but it is much more for fans who have experienced League of Legends from the early tilt. It disrupts the consistency and thematic language of the game which we have grown to love over the years. According to Riot's website, they aim to "constantly evolve the gaming experience" (Riot Games, Mission Statement), but the new design has morphed a recognizable game symbol into a pop culture reference, straying away from its original implications.

Players, casual and passionate like me, have reported their disappointment and confusion over this unwarranted change across multiple gaming forums and social media platforms (Reddit, Twitter). It has disrupted the historical value, essence and player expectations embedded in this beloved icon.
