As a mother, nothing is more precious than the well-being and development of my daughter, who has autism. Our school's teaching assistants (TAs) and one-on-one support systems have been instrumental in her growth and learning. These amazing TAs have been supporting not just my daughter but every child with learning difficulties in our school. Recently, however, the school trust has announced they would no longer fund these vital roles, which threatens to directly harm the children's learning environment. Without the needed support, it will be nearly impossible for one teacher to effectively manage a class while assigning the necessary individual attention. This could lead to children falling behind, as evidenced by my own daughter's situation. According to the National Education Union, TAs can boost attainment for pupils, particularly those with special educational needs. In light of these facts, we are seeking support to get this issue before parliament. Our children should not suffer due to budget cuts. We need to ensure that the well-being of our children takes precedence over costs. Please back this appeal to restore funding for TAs in our school so our children can continue to receive the support they need. Sign the petition and help make a change for good.
