Restore FSU Pride: allow the lacrosse club to use Florida State Logos

The Issue

Restore FSU Lacrosse Pride: Let Us Represent Florida State!

We, the players, coaches, parents, alumni, and supporters of the Florida State University Lacrosse Club, are calling on the university to restore our ability to use FSU logos on our uniforms and gear. Recent restrictions have caused delays in acquiring uniforms, created confusion with unclear guidelines, and diminished the morale of our team and community. These challenges are eroding our identity, disconnecting us from the university we proudly represent, and alienating alumni whose support is vital to our program’s future.

Historically, our team was granted access to FSU logos, which we incorporated with pride into our uniforms and gear. However, recent policy changes have stripped us of all access to these logos, leaving us unable to use even the designs we previously relied upon. The FSU marketing department now prohibits us from using the following:

 • 30 various FSU logos

 • The word “Seminoles”

 • The FSU Tribal Pattern

 • The FSU Unconquered font

 • The words “Climb” or “Unconquered”

 • Changing the color of our social media profile pictures

How can we proudly and enthusiastically represent our school when the very ability to do so is being taken away from us? This isn’t just about pride; it’s about identity, community, and the passion we feel for the place we call our own. By limiting our ability to express this pride, the school is stifling a part of what makes us who we are.

The FSU logo is more than a design—it symbolizes pride, unity, and connection to the university. Without it, our team struggles to represent Florida State with the same purpose and passion. Alumni, who have historically supported us financially and emotionally, feel alienated, risking long-term impacts on the university’s ability to retain their support.

As a club team competing on a national stage, we proudly showcase the talent and dedication of FSU students. However, without the university’s branding, we are being denied the opportunity to fully represent Florida State and elevate its visibility in the lacrosse community.

We urge the administration to reconsider this policy and allow us to incorporate FSU logos back into our uniforms and gear. Doing so will restore pride to our team, strengthen alumni support, and reaffirm the university’s commitment to its students and athletic programs. Let us come together to stand for what we believe in—because a school isn’t just its policies or walls, it’s the heart and spirit of the people within it. Join us in calling for change—let’s preserve the identity and tradition of FSU Lacrosse.
