Restore Flying Scotsman to rightful LNER Livery.

The Issue

We need your help! The 24th of February 2023 marks the centenary of Sir Nigel Gresley's A3 Pacific. The most famous locomotive in the world, the people's engine; Flying Scotsman. However, there has been no talk as of yet, whether the A3 will be restored to her original Apple Green livery of the LNER. Since her return to steam in 2016, Scotsman has been in her British Railways Brunswick Green Livery with her BR number. As most railway fans will know; the most unremarkable and humbling time of Scotsman's life was spent during the years under BR and later the company would almost scrap her and was the catalyst for her nearly getting lost to the United States. Therefore it is only right that for her 100th anniversary that she be returned to the livery she is most well known for. The livery where she broke all her records, starred in exhibitions and feature films and the livery she circumvented the globe in. The livery of the company that her creator Sir Nigel Gresley was the Chief Mechanical Engineer of the LNER. Out of respect to Sir Nigel, to fans who love her and to Flying Scotsman herself, the National Railway Museum has a responsibility to restore the A3 to her original LNER Livery and Number in honour of this momentous occasion. Please sign this petition if you agree and want to see Flying Scotsman back in the colours we know and love.
