Restore Fair Access to Copley Employee Health Insurance Benefits
The Issue
The 2027 health insurance benefit coverage provided by Copley Hospital is changing in a way that does NOT provide substantially equal coverage and violates Article 21 of the Nursing Union Contract.
Changes include excluding labs, x-ray, radiology, and orthopedic services received through Lamoille Health Partners and Tamarack from Tier 1 and changing the employee contributions to these services from Gold HSA: 90%, Silver HSA and Gold Co-Pay: 80%. To Gold HSA, Silver HSA, and Gold Co-Pay 50%. That is a 63% out of pocket increase for seeking these services outside of Copley Hospital.
Copley Hospital is also changing the basis of the employer contribution to dental premiums from the Basic Plan to the Buy-Down Plan, a change to the employer’s contribution to the premium that puts a higher cost on the plan user.
Copley Hospital will also no longer provide benefits for domestic partners. This change is in direct violation of the Nursing Contract in Article 21, "Domestic Partners."
The Union would also like to draw attention to the change in insurance premiums, which are increasing while services become more limited.
This is a call to all Copley employees and the Copley Community about our health. We need to unite and tell Copley Hospital that limiting their employees' service choices, denying domestic partner coverage, and increasing out of pocket costs is NOT sustainable, and we do NOT agree to these options. Please sign this petition to tell Copley NO THANKS to the 2027 health insurance benefit changes.
