Residents of Atlantic Station in Stamford have been without running water since Thursday. The outage is now severely affecting sanitation and basic habitability. Communication from management has been limited, and resident concerns raised on internal community boards have been removed or restricted during this emergency.

The prolonged loss of water also raises serious fire safety questions. If the building’s sprinkler or standpipe systems are impaired, this becomes a life-safety issue for hundreds of residents.

We are calling on building management to act immediately and provide:

• Written confirmation that all fire protection systems are fully operational, or disclosure of any impairments and temporary safety measures

• A clear restoration timeline and mandatory daily written updates

• Delivered potable water and interim sanitation accommodations until service is restored

• A fair rent credit tied to the outage period

Call for City Oversight

Because this situation involves habitability and potential fire safety concerns in a large residential building, we are asking the City of Stamford to review conditions and confirm that appropriate safety standards are being met.
