Restore Direct Flights from Broome to Bali

The Issue

For many years, there were direct flights from Broome to Bali, making travel quick and convenient for locals and visitors alike. Around 26 years ago, Ansett Australia operated these routes. Unfortunately, when they collapsed in 2001, these direct connections disappeared—and they never returned.

More recently, international access from Broome has declined further. On July 1 last year, flights to Singapore ended after Jetstar Asia ceased operations. This has left Broome without any direct international flight options.

Reintroducing direct flights to Bali would provide significant benefits. Bali is closer to Broome than Singapore, making it a more practical and accessible destination. It would not only support tourism but also give residents a more convenient gateway to international travel, as onward connections to destinations like Singapore are easily available from Bali.

This petition calls on the Western Australian Government to work with airlines and Broome International Airport to reintroduce direct flights between Broome and Bali, restoring vital international connectivity for our region and significantly reducing travel time while improving access for residents and tourists.

Thank you for your support.
