The Issue

At least one Township Supervisor and the Clerk in Orrock Township MN have allowed the then outgoing Supervisor (who lost a local election) to delete emails from all folders and archives prior to him allowing an incoming Supervisor to take over the email account. Deleting these emails is a potential violation of MN statute 138.225 and a misdemeanor.  Additionally, Chapter 138 and Minn. Stat. § 15.17, requires all government officers to preserve their official records and deliver them to their successor in office.

Pleas to the Clerk and Supervisor to restore the emails about Township financials, decision making criteria and related business have gone unheeded and they refuse to even hear about this citizen concern in the Township meetings, brushing it off as a non event despite at least two members participating. The  citizens of Orrock are once again requesting that all data be restored, including all other Supervisors going into their own Inbox, Deleted and Sent items to forward to the new Supervisor immediately.

If they choose not to restore ALL emails, signing this petition acts as a formal reqeust to resign their respective positions immediately and abstain from running for office in Orrock Township ever again.
