Hello all 124,123 of you,
I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who messages of kindness to those working in the refugee sector following the recent riots.
The response was powerful and I want you to know how much something as small as a message has meant. One person told us “I have had many sleepless nights worrying about the people, my friends that I support who are currently in the local hotel. Luckily, nothing has happened in our area. But I have been crying almost every day with worry and despair at the world. These have really made my day”.
We have been adding the messages to this website and sent them to organisations far and wide. If you know someone working in the refugee sector, please do pass the messages to them too.
In other actions, we continue to drive messages of welcome for refugees. This weekend, we joined Stockwell Festival in London. We spoke with the community about our campaign - and encouraged them to get involved. We had more brilliant drawings created that you can see from the image, and we made a short video of our activities here too.
The wonderful people we spoke to have given us lots of campaign ideas - we’ll be in touch soon with more actions we can take. In the meantime, if you know any London events we may be able to join, please let us know: cartoonsnotcruelty@gmail.com
Thank you for your support as always!
