Mention Vancouver Island Rail in Canada's Pre-Budget Consultations survey.  It will take bold action by the Federal Government to work with indigenous communities along this corridor to make it happen, because 6.2km of the line crosses reserve land. Remember, if it weren’t for the vision and commitment of the Island’s First Nations peoples there would be no future for our Corridor. The Island Corridor Foundation, the non-profit owner, is a partnership between local Governments and First Nations along the island rail corridor.

This fall, the Government of Canada will table Budget 2025, which will lay out the government's plan to address the unprecedented challenges facing our country. Budget 2025 will catalyze investment and economic growth across Canada to build one united Canadian economy – all while spending less on the day-to-day operations of government.

Pre-budget consultations are an opportunity for Canadians from across the country to share their ideas and priorities on how to better shape Canada's future. Join the conversation by responding to our questionnaire below or sending in a formal submission both of which can be submitted until August 28, 2025.
