Daniel says the 3 working groups looking at creating a final vision for the railway are dynamic, and he acknowledged the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure saying he was positive about the railway and that everyone, both Regional Districts and First Nations are all at the table.  Daniel said we should even be talking about extending it to Campbell River as that was the original deal.

The Vancouver Island Rail Corridor will provide connections to Ferries, Airports, buses, and the 1000's of km's of trails Vancouver has.  It has the potential for economic reconciliation with First Nations too. The only party we are unsure of at this point is the Federal Government.  Will they contribute to fund it?  We need to be ready to pressure them to do so because there is a lot of hard work getting done, and the only thing that will discourage participation is a lack of interest at the National Level.
