"The world needs dreamers, and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do" - Sarah Ban Breathnach

'It's a dream': Trains are back in Port Alberni, an article on Chek News talking about the return of the tourist train running along the harbour in Port Alberni. It was Dreamers and Doers making their dreams come true that made it happen.

I wonder how many times the Alberni Pacific Railway Action Group heard "You are dreaming" or "You are beating a dead horse" or "It's a dead duck" but foraged ahead anyway toward success.

They worked with the Island Corridor Foundation, Hupacasath First Nation, Tseshaht First Nation, Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce, 4VI (Tourism Vancouver Island), Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District, Port Alberni Port Authority, the City of Port Alberni, and others to bring back trains to Port Alberni’s waterfront.

It’s a story of success, a story of perseverance, a story of commitment, and a story of dedicated Vancouver Islander’s on a mission to restore and improve a piece of our island heritage.

Their story is not that different than the story developing around the mission to bring trains back to Vancouver Island from Port Alberni and Courtenay all the way to Victoria. It’s been 13 years since passenger services ran on the island, but we are hearing that there is hope that they will return, listen to that here: https://youtu.be/-JjxbCQwYLA

Be a dreamer and a doer. Help us revive our iron horses and put our ducks in a row so we can ride the trains once again.

Share and talk to Friends, Family and Colleagues, and Promote the petition. There is strength in numbers.

Thanks again!
