The Petition is now at 7664 supporters and climbing, surpassing the House of Commons petition at 7610 signatures.

Let's keep on sharing and promoting the petition to see how high we can get that number before launching a flurry of concerned citizen emails to those that need to hear it.

That's right, preparation work is underway to start an email campaign.  It will be to the Federal government to urge them to come to the island with dedicated resources in order to resolve long standing First Nations concerns with certain sections of the railway. Reconciliation is a Nation to Nation discussion after all. 

Remember, First Nations are part owners of the railway and govern it 50-50 along with Regional Districts through the Island Corridor Foundation.  The ICF has put forward a business case for Rails and Trails!

I confirmed with Alistair MacGregor, the MLA that supported the House of Commons petition that it will be read in the House of Commons in less than 2 weeks with 7610 signatures behind it. I'm still waiting on a firm date, but it's coming!
