As the director of London Fano, I am deeply distressed by the sudden and unjust blocking of TikTok accounts that support Amhara and Fano activities. Our accounts, including our main London Fano TikTok account, were blocked without any prior warning or explanation. This decision has not only silenced our voices but has also diminished our ability to raise awareness and garner support for our cause.

The Amhara and Fano communities have long used social media platforms like TikTok to shine a light on the pressing issues they face. Through these digital spaces, we share critical information, mobilize support, and unite communities worldwide for a common goal—protecting the rights and well-being of the Amhara people and fostering cultural pride.

Blocking these accounts arbitrarily undermines our freedom of expression and right to peaceful activism. It also hinders our efforts to provide much-needed support and solidarity among our diaspora, especially in times of escalating tensions affecting the Amhara region.

We urge TikTok to reverse these bans and immediately restore all accounts associated with Amhara and Fano support activities. We call for a transparent communication policy that informs users of any impending actions and provides clear reasons for such measures.

Furthermore, we request that TikTok implements a fair appeal process to ensure that innocent users can contest unjust bans effectively. Social media should be a place of open dialogue and community building, not one of censorship and suppression.

We are seeking the support of everyone who believes in the principles of fairness, free speech, and community resilience. By signing this petition, you are standing with us in our fight to restore our voices and continue our essential work in support of the Amhara and Fano causes. Please sign and help us reclaim our right to be heard.
