The closure of Mill Lane due to damage from Hurricane Floyd in 1999 has long since been a concern of Earleville residents. According to multiple sources, plans and funds were at one point allocated to restore this roadway but were never implemented. The current closure of Glebe Road due to bridge work has proven how important this alternative access to Route 213 is for many reasons. The extended commute times for Emergency Services to respond is a huge concern not to mention the added hardships to our community as they travel to work, school and run errands.
