RESTART impeachment of George Halcovage, Schuylkill County Commissioner-Sexual Harassment

The Issue

A panel of state legislators in Harrisburg embarked on a legal process in January of 2022 that may result in the impeachment of Schuylkill County Commissioner George F. Halcovage Jr.

The House Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on Courts voted unanimously to move forward with an investigation of allegations that Halcovage abused his authority as a public official but they still have not completed what they started.

In September of 2021, the U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission found that Halcovage and the County of Schuylkill had subjected four female employees to sexual harassment, hostile work environment and retaliation.  Instead of protecting these women, County Administration decided to retaliate against these women and prevent others from coming forward with additional accusations.

Not only do these women continue to be victimized by County Administration and wait for justice to be served, the failure to act on the part of both the County and the House Judiciary Committee has allowed Halcovage to victimize again. It's time for justice and time to expose those who abused their authority in order to protect Halcovage.
