I  would like to start and say that yes there are irresponsible e-scooter riders and it does affect our day to day lives and yes they are classed as vehicles: (why class something if you're just gonna make illegal to ride anyway?) 

I propose that Southend city council make it legal to ride e-scooters on the road. Requiring certain regulations are met such as lights, I have 3 on mine and feel that I should add more, also mirrors, we should be able to insure them, there should also be a test and we should have to MOT to see if the scooter is roadworthy, if you say they are a vehicle than they should be attune to same regulations just like cars. They are green and they reduce congestion. 

A policeman comes up to me and says as of today 1st Feb 2025 we will be seizing these. I need this for work as a cleaner I have multiple jobs all over. I need my scooter and am willing to pay a fee if it takes to makes my scooter road legal.

Without my scooter I would not be able to do the amount of work I do on a push bike, that's why I got my scooter and I haven't got the spare money to go out and buy a moped, so this my only other option. 

It is such a waste of police time and tax payers money.
