Lululemon has recently taken away the Healthcare worker discount from Respiratory Therapists (RT's). According to Lululemon, RT's are not frontline enough to receive a discount, despite the fact that the nurses and physicians working alongside them are eligible.

RT's are responsible in the hospital for providing oxygen to patients, intubation, ventilation, extubation, tracheostomy care, and countless other life saving procedures in the hospital setting. We have worked tirelessly during the COVID-19 pandemic, and arguably there is no position in the hospital that is more frontline and at risk of COVID-19 exposure than RT's, alongside our physicians and nurses.  Starting this week (October 25-29th) is Respiratory Therapist recognition week, and in honour of that, we have started a petition to take to Lululemon to get RT's included in the healthcare worker discount. To have another company tell us that we are "frontline enough" to be eligible for a healthcare worker discount is insulting and infuriating, and we would just appreciate the same respect as our fellow healthcare heroes.

Fellow RT's- So many of us love this brand, and love to support businesses that have a humble Canadian origin. Countless RT's wear Lululemon under our scrubs, or to and from the hospital, and the discount has been an absolute blessing. We have gone through so much this last year as a profession, and we deserve to have our voices heard, and a little bit of appreciation! Sign this petition if you would like to see our discount brought back!
