Recently, I discovered that a major platforms, Google Maps, has started to use the fake name 'Arabian Gulf.' This has caused distress among those of us who identify with the true name, the Persian Gulf.

The term 'Persian Gulf' has been used for centuries, with its roots embedded deeply in historical texts and maps. This is not just a preference—it is a fact backed by historical and geographical scholarship. UNESCO and many other international organizations have recognized 'Persian Gulf' as the official name. Changing it not only disregards historical accuracy but also ignores the identity and heritage of millions of people.

It's crucial that Google with far-reaching influence adhere to historical accuracy and cultural respect. Allowing such a significant nomenclature to change due to political pressures sets a dangerous precedent, potentially erasing the legitimate experiences and histories of communities.

I urge Google to correct the nomenclature in their platforms to reflect 'Persian Gulf,' respecting the historical and cultural context that it rightfully deserves. This is a call for action, fueled by the unwavering belief in preserving truth and heritage. Please stand with us in ensuring that history and culture are respected, not rewritten.

خلیج فارس صرفاً یک منطقه جغرافیایی نیست؛ بخشی از میهن و میراث من است. این منطقه برای من و بی‌شمار ایرانی دیگری که ریشه‌های خود را به این ناحیه بازمی‌گردانند، دارای اهمیت فرهنگی، تاریخی و شخصی عمیقی است. اخیراً متوجه شدم که یکی از پلتفرم‌های بزرگ، نقشه گوگل، شروع به استفاده از نام جعلی «خلیج عربی» کرده است. این موضوع باعث ناراحتی بسیاری از ما شده که با نام واقعی آن، خلیج فارس، هویت می‌گیریم.

اصطلاح «خلیج فارس» قرن‌هاست که مورد استفاده قرار می‌گیرد و ریشه در متون تاریخی و نقشه‌های قدیمی دارد. این صرفاً یک ترجیح نیست بلکه حقیقتی است که توسط پژوهش‌های تاریخی و جغرافیایی پشتیبانی می‌شود. یونسکو و بسیاری از سازمان‌های بین‌المللی دیگر، «خلیج فارس» را به‌عنوان نام رسمی به رسمیت شناخته‌اند. تغییر آن نه‌تنها دقت تاریخی را نادیده می‌گیرد، بلکه هویت و میراث میلیون‌ها نفر را نیز انکار می‌کند.

ضروری است که  گوگل به‌عنوان یک پلتفرم پرنفوذ، به دقت تاریخی و احترام فرهنگی پایبند باشد. اجازه دادن به تغییر چنین نام‌گذاری مهمی تحت فشارهای سیاسی، سابقه‌ای خطرناک ایجاد می‌کند که ممکن است به پاک شدن تجربیات و تاریخ واقعی جوامع بینجامد.

از گوگل می‌خواهم که نام‌گذاری در پلتفرم‌های خود را اصلاح کرده و «خلیج فارس» را منعکس کند، با احترامی که این نام در بستر تاریخی و فرهنگی‌اش سزاوار آن است. این یک فراخوان برای اقدام است، برخاسته از باور راسخ به حفظ حقیقت و میراث. لطفاً در کنار ما بایستید تا از حفظ تاریخ و فرهنگ اطمینان حاصل شود و نه بازنویسی آن.
