Resolve Traffic Congestion on NH8 in Delhi- Gurgaon Highway

Resolve Traffic Congestion on NH8 in Delhi- Gurgaon Highway
The Issue
I, like many others, must daily endure the exhausting journey from Delhi to Gurgaon (Sardar Patel Marg to Ambience Mall, Gurgaon visversa) for work, a journey made unbearable by the persistent traffic jams on NH8. This issue has been longstanding, but progress towards resolving it is far from satisfactory.
Current estimates suggest that commuters spend around 43 hours in traffic each year in Delhi, a number that only increases along congested routes like NH8. This not only impacts our productivity but also our physical and mental well-being (source: Urban Mobility Report).
Traffic congestion isn't just an inconvenience. It's a drain on our time, our health, and our resources, leading to increased fuel costs and emissions that contribute to poor air quality - a serious concern particularly in Delhi, a city regularly peering through smoggy hazes (source: Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, India).
We call upon the Delhi Traffic Police and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to prioritize and expedite improvements to NH8. This may involve creating additional lanes, optimizing traffic signal timings, place Marshall to manage traffic or improving public transport solutions as a way to reduce individual car usage.
We urge all of you who face the same plight of daily traffic snarls, the troubling pollution, and weariness at the end of every commute to sign this petition. Your signature can make a difference. Together, we can make our voices heard and push for much-needed changes to our daily commute.
