In a personal capacity, this passionately felt plea arises in response to the tremendous numbers of executive orders issued under the Trump Administration. These orders have swept away the rights of numerous Americans while simultaneously slashing crucial programs that are relied upon day-to-day. My freedom, your freedom, our freedom of speech is under stark attack by the Trump Administration. They challenge anyone who dare to oppose them, escalating their offense to filing lawsuits against network news companies and going as far as to arrest peaceable protestors.

This is not a time when we can afford to stand idle. We have witnessed the Administration move swiftly and recklessly: over 190 executive orders have been signed off by President Trump, many of which are poised to strip us of our basic human rights (The American Presidency Project). Signs of endangerment to key programs like the Affordable Care Act, the Food Stamp Program, the Environmental Protection Agency, and numerous others, do not escape our sight.

This administration has repeatedly shown blatant disregard for our constitutional right to free speech. The U.S. Press Freedom Tracker reported more than 100 legal threats, more than 900 physical attacks, and over 100 arrests of journalists only in 2020. Furthermore, peaceful protestors have found themselves handcuffed in their pursuit to uphold justice and democracy.

Many of us lack the income to donate to democrats to flip the house back to blue. We are struggling like no other, while the wealthy are suffocating the working class. I'm over 40, no degree, can't make it paycheck to paycheck, and have over 20k in debt just from trying to survive and not be homeless. Only to still end up living in my car and motels for a short time due to expensive housing. Luckily, my mother has been my sanctuary. We have both faced the same challenges in this continually deteriorating state of the Nation in which we call home. I'm fearful, but empowered to speak up for what the people really want.
