Last night the district budget committee informed by Itoco and a representative from MCOE that an additional $350,000 but be cut for next year and the decision must be made in the next 2 months.  Because it's past May 15th (which is the deadline to make decisions regarding staffing) the only positions that are eligible to be reduced are those that are currently unfilled for the 22-23 school year. The district budget committee and ultimately the board is now forced due to additional financial mismanagement to reduce $300,000 of programming that has to come out of the following unfilled positions: 

Transitional Kindergarten (This may not be offered.)
Tk-8 music (This may eliminate music for some or all grades.)
1st-5th grade reading interventions (This may eliminate the reading support program for children with highest literacy needs.)
Foreign-language - ELD programs (This may eliminate or reduce at the middle school.)
