Lets stop the reduction of influence we actually do have within the City of Cape Town

The Issue

The proposal to shut down Sub-Council 1 in its current format and shift ward offices to Atlantis and Parow, whilst collective support and influence  is effectively reduced, will not serve the interests of this community within the greater Table View area!

In its current format these wards represent 50% of interest and influence within Sub-Council 1.  This proposed amendment will see residents combined interests and influence reduced significantly to less than 20% - if the proposed new Sub-Councils amendment is effectively enacted.

In whose benefit is it to split our combined neighbourhood support, especially so given that we will need to muster such in the months to come,  as we deal with  (i) Informal trading, (ii) erf 1117, (iii)  erf 37157, (iv) the Fire works, (v) Taxi recapitalisation, (vi) Taxi Operating Companies, (vii) our Beach front, (viii) Water Quality,  (ix) Beach safety and security, (x) increased developments and (xi) increased high density living with collapsing bulk services.

Is now the time to allow our communities support base to be significantly reduced and diminished?
