I would rate today's (1/24) Protest Rally a rousing success with a great turnout from Farragut residents representing a good number of Farragut subdivisions. Great presentations as well as questions from the participants.  As we surpass 700 signees in a little over 24 hours, I would like to make one follow up request of you.  In addition to having signed this petition, it is CRUCIAL that we also follow up with an email to our Town's elected officials before their Thursday night meeting.  The DEADLINE for having your email accepted and read into the minutes is WEDNESDAY NOON.  Please sent your email to "comments@townoffarragut.org" and address it to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.  It can be as simple as just saying you oppose having an apartment complex being included in the proposed Town Center.  You can also address other issues such as the lack of "significant public outreach" as required by the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP), this is a very significant change from what was approved back in 2012!  There are other issues associated with the complex contributing to increased traffic congestion and school overcrowding.  Supposedly TOF has not even conducted any formal discussions with the Knox County Schools about the developments impact on them?  PLEASE follow up with and email, it will only take a few minutes of your time and could prove to be instrumental in having the project delayed until it can be properly communicated and assessed by those it impacts the most, which is US!  WE DESERVE BETTER!

If you need a template, the following is from the “FARRAGUT CITIZENS for RESPONSIBLE GROWTH and DEVELOPMENT Petition".

The proposed changes to the Brooklawn Development Site (Biddle Farm represents a “major change” to the Mixed-Use Town Center requiring the “significant public outreach” called for on Page 6 of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan.  These changes should not proceed without the Town of Farragut holding the agreed-upon significant public outreach ensuring a collaborative review and modification to the Mixed-Use Town Center area that represents the “attitudes” of the entire Town.

I ask that you Table Ordinances 21-01, 21-02 and 21-03 until the Mixed-Use Town Center public outreach is completed and the agreed-upon changes are adopted.
