Residents of Efrat Concerned for their security, say yes to Jewish and foreign workers! 

We, the residents of Efrat, write with deep concerns regarding the potential entry of Non Israeli Arabs into our city. We understand the economic needs and the importance of cooperation, but recent events, particularly the tragic October 7th massacre, have heightened our fears for the safety of our residents.

In the aftermath of this terrible incident, with many of our men drafted to serve in various capacities, our community is already facing a heightened sense of vulnerability. The trauma and anxiety stemming from the events of October 7th have left us grappling with a profound sense of insecurity. In light of these circumstances, we are apprehensive about the introduction of Non Israeli Arabs into Efrat, even with the presence of guards.

While we acknowledge the necessity of labor from various sources, we believe that the safety of our families should be the top priority. The recent tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of the region, and we fear that allowing Arab workers to roam freely, even with security measures in place, may expose our community to unnecessary risks.

The introduction of non Israeli Arabs, especially in such uncertain times, amplifies our concerns and poses potential threats to the well-being of our families.

In light of these circumstances, we respectfully request that you reconsider any plans to allow non Israeli Arabs into Efrat. We understand the complexities of balancing economic needs of our residents and security concerns but believe that alternative solutions can be explored to address labor needs without compromising the safety of our residents.

We appreciate your understanding of the delicate situation our community is facing and trust that you will give due consideration to the voices of the residents in our city. We look forward to an open and constructive dialogue on this matter and appreciate your attention to our concerns and note the amount of signed supporters there are of this initiative.

תושבי אפרת החתומים מטה, פונים מתוך חשש עמוק ודאגה כנה באשר לכניסת פועלים ערבים לא ישראלים ליישובנו.

 

 

 

כן, אנו ערים לצורך הכלכלי והבנו את העמדה הנוגעת לחשיבות שיתוף הפעולה עם שכנינו הערבים, אך האירועים האחרונים, במיוחד הטבח המזעזע ב-7 באוקטובר, הגבירו את דאגותינו לביטחונם של תושבי היישוב שלנו.

 

 

לאור האירוע הנורא ופתיחת המלחמה, כשרבים מבעלינו, בנינו, אחינו ונכדינו גויסו לשרת בתפקידים שונים בחזית, הקהילה שלנו מתמודדת עם תחושת פגיעות מוגברת; אירועי ה-7 באוקטובר הותירו אותנו מתמודדים עם תחושת חוסר ביטחון עמוקה. לאור נסיבות אלו, אנו מתנגדים להכנסת עובדים ערבים לא ישראלים לאפרת גם בנוכחות שומרים.

 

חרף הצורך בעובדי כפיים, אנו מאמינים שבטיחות המשפחות שלנו היא בראש סדר העדיפויות.

 

 

 

 האירועים המחרידים האחרונים משמשים תזכורת מובהקת לאופי הבלתי צפוי של האזור, ואנו מתריעים כי מתן אפשרות לערבים שאינם ישראלים להסתובב ביישוב, אפילו עם אמצעי אבטחה, עלולים לחשוף את הקהילה שלנו לסיכונים מיותרים.

 

הכנסת עובדים ערבים לא ישראלים, במיוחד בתקופה חסרת ודאות כמו זאת, מעצימה את דאגותינו ומהווה איום ממשי על ביטחוננו וביטחון משפחותינו.

 

אנו מבקשים מראש המועצה לשקול מחדש כל תוכנית לאפשר לעובדים ערבים שאינם ישראליים להיכנס לאפרת. אנו מבינים את המורכבות של איזון בין צרכים כלכליים לבין שיקולי אבטחה, אך מאמינים שניתן לבחון פתרונות חלופיים כדי לתת מענה לצרכי העבודה מבלי לפגוע בבטחון התושבים שלנו.

 

אנו מעריכים את הבנתך את המצב העדין בו מתמודדת קהילתנו וסומכים על כך שתתחשב כראוי בקולות התושבים בעירנו. אנו מצפים לדיאלוג פתוח ובונה בעניין זה ומעריכים את תשומת לבך לדאגותינו.
