Hi all, 

I apologize for not yet having the key points from the submitted comments and whether significant concerns are sufficiently addressed put together yet - it's a LOT.  Among others, the DNR and Blue Earth County brought up some excellent and very thorough concerns and I believe it's something residents should see to truly understand why an EIS should have been done, without a question.  Unfortunately, both the EAW (and appendices) and the released "Findings of Fact" are both huge. It's unrealistic to expect most residents to go over 2 1/2 inches (EAW) of reading and another 221 pages in 24 HOURS to be fully informed, especially with so much conflicting information. I have gone through almost 2 highlighters.  

But, on to the main point today: we have sought legal counsel with filing the appeal.  With that, we have set up a GoFundMe account Support to protect Eagle Lake

Many people have asked how they can help and this is it.  It's up to the residents to make sure due diligence is done to protect not only the wildlife and the lake, but their well-being and small town life.  We're hoping to help bring awareness to the real concern of urban/industrial sprawl and the corners that are allowed to be cut for the sake of keeping the process going (or not "slowing it down").

Thank you all for your support, whether you have signed, shared, donated, or written a strongly worded letter to the city council asking them to wake up (and maybe check out the trail going through/between the lake).  It is all appreciated!!
