Making crosswalks safer in Ridgefield

Making crosswalks safer in Ridgefield
Why this petition matters

It is important to maintain safety and awareness in our community.
In Ridgefield there are a few crosswalks in high traffic areas which could use some attention. Adding new LED solar and battery powered signs could help pedestrians cross Main Street with less fear and more confidence that drivers will adhere to the rules of the road.
This petition is to erect signs on either ends of the cross walks, which upon pressing a button, the signs light up with LED, solar powered, and battery operated flashing lights around the cross walk sign which will alert drivers to stop and allow pedestrians to cross safely.
These signs would be located on Main Street by the Aldrich Museum and by the Conservatory in the middle of town. ( eliminating this particular cross walk altogether would be the safest idea). And any other place deemed necessary to keep our residents safe.
Thank you in advance to all residents and patrons for signing and sharing this petition.
The town has taken notice that there is a problem. And so far one crosswalk is getting an led pedestrian crossing sign.
