For those of you holding back in fear of losing your jobs, or ignoring what’s happening because you feel like it does not directly affect you..please understand that another person’s today will most likely be your tomorrow. Staying silent may prolong things but you will not be exempt from the subjection to the hostile and dysfunctional work environment that you continue to work in. Your administrator doesn’t pay wages based on experience and the current pay scale but makes offers based on her own personal preferences. Many of the most diligent employees in this facility barely make living wages compared to employees with no prior experience currently making several dollars more. Isn’t it weird that employees who’ve been employed the longest make the least amount of money? And what are you going to do the next time someone suddenly dies and your administrator doesn’t answer the phone, won’t make herself available to assist you in an emergency, but will tell state when under investigation that you just panicked and did not follow protocol to avoid being transparent? What will you do when something serious happens that places u at risk knowing that management will not have your back and is too incompetent to have their own back? You’ll never be treated fairly if you never stand up for yourself. It’s your duty to stand up for the residents and do everything in your scope to make sure they get the best care possible! It’s not just morally correct but it’s your job. You should question everything. Why would anyone have this many presigned DNRs?
