I just want to take a moment to say thank you to the many family members that have loved ones currently living at the landings and you still signed this petition. I also would like to give a special thank you to the multitude of employees currently working in the landings that also signed in support of this petition. Doing the right thing is not always easy. It can be very difficult. However, My grandmother always told me that if you don’t stand for something then you will fall for anything. Every single healthcare worker from the housekeeper to the kitchen staff, all the way to the CEO is considered a mandated reporter. That means if you know something isn’t right it is your duty to speak up and out about it. If you know staff are being treated unfairly, residents aren’t getting enough to eat, medications are being miscounted, mismanaged, residents are being double briefed, and neglected due to lack of staffing and you turn a blind eye then you are doing yourself, your team, and most importantly the residents that pay your salary an injustice and disservice.
