The West Hartford Board of Education is being presented two different calendars for the 2019-2020 school year; one with October 14th labeled as Columbus Day, and another with October 14th labeled as Indigenous People’s Day. The board members have asked to hear the town’s voice in order to vote on this in the most righteous way. Have your voice heard by signing this petition to change the school holiday to “Indigenous People’s Day”, in order to allow our town to be a leader in the movement to honor the indigenous, both nationally and locally, and celebrate their unique culture and contributions to our nation.
