For a start, I am Bhavanishankar Ravindra a 30 year old cerebral palsy guy born with 75% disability working in the IT industry for 8 years and due to my work in the IT industry and differently abled sector in India, Have been awarded a National award in 2017 as a role model with disabilities Link below:

When I started my career in the IT industry in India 8 years back in 2010/11 I was denied a credit card by ICICI bank rather bluntly saying that  since m a cerebral palsy guy, we cant trust you paying your credit card bills on time.

Fast forward to 2018, again the same ICICI bank has denied my colleague Krishnakant Mane or popularly called as KK (his biography is here) a debit card only because he is visually impaired. Even after many attempts to convice the bank authorities, they have still denied him a card fearing that fraudulent usage might happen on the card because of his inherent nature.

While going through the Internet, found an RBI Directive that states to make banks and atm's accessible to the differently abled. Directive link below:

Need for Bank Branches / ATMs to be made accessible to persons with disabilities

Inspite of the directive and the notification, I find many banks and atm's (for instance thisthis and this) largely wheelchair inaccessible, lack of Audio Visual aids in ATM's making it generally very difficult for people like me to navigate and use bank services without any support which is very heart wrenching considering the fact that our honourable PM is giving cashless economy a push and people like us are still at large.

So, I humbly request the Reserve Bank of India and its governor to take some action regarding the implementation of the directive and need your kind support towards enabling the same.
