Being able to exchange demonetized Indian currency abroad

Being able to exchange demonetized Indian currency abroad
The Issue
The demonetization is the right step in curbing illegal hoarding, however, this is not the case with people of Indian origin who live abroad. They usually keep some money with them when they travel to India and back. Such is the case with everyone. However, not everyone will be able to fly to India to exchange there meager amounts. This should not mean that hard earned money of honest people should go to waste.
I request you to please help us in establishing contact with the right channel to be able to put our word out. Most of us dont have more then Rs20000 or Rs 30000 which is not enough money to travel to India to deposit, but is still hard earned money.
Indian Embassy or consulates in foreign countries could open a counter to accept Indian currency in return of a letter of confirmation that such amount has been received which can be deposited in Indian bank at a later date. This would ease the anxieties of a lot of Indians abroad.
I thank you for your time and consideration.
