Stop Exploitation In Private Sector Banks and create Union for private banks
The Issue
Private sector banks in India are exploiting their employees in the name of selling Insurance products of private companies.
These banks are hiring employees by their paid programmes, charging huge amount of money by promising managerial posts in the banks but after the programme, employees are mentally tortured to sell life insurance products and that too without any incentives.
The problem here is the transperency which these banks are not showing. Before hiring employees they are not told about the enormous sales involved in the operations profile they are hired for.
Another important issue is the mental harrasment being faced by everyone working in these banks. Employees are working for almost 11 to 12 hours without even getting overtime pay. When employees question them about timings they get a very rude and humiliating response "you did not do any sales today so you can't leave early".
Employees are forced to do sales from their own pocket, or they are told to get business from their families.
They are not getting fuel/travel allowances which is incurred during their forced field visits for sales.
The cashiers in bank have huge responsibility while tackling with cash and banks transaction, even they are mentally harrassed to do insurance sales, to go on field to generate insurance sales.
Female employees are facing the same mental tortures. Even they are made to sit for 11 to 12 hours without overtime pay.
Languages used by the supervisors are really humiliating violating human rights.
Urgent rectification needed on below mentioned points.
1) Private banks Union has to be formed so that these issues can be reported and rectified.
2) When hiring new employees they need to get in writing about the detailed job description.
3) Daily 9 hours shift has to be followed, if not then overtime pay has to be implemented.
4) Any kind of mental harassment should be eradicated.
5) In banks a separate sales team has to be hired for doing insurance sales as the employees in banks have already too much to sell which includes credit cards, various loans, foreign exchange products, Saving accounts, current accounts, mutual funds, Fixed deposits etc, and on top of that they handle customer service which is itself a very big and responsible task.
6) Employees who have lost their money and job through their fraud programmes has to be returned.
These changes are very necessary as these are hampering the mental peace and careers of lacs of people.
