Thank you for raising awareness of the debilitating effect of floaters via your change.org petition. The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) produces a scientific journal EYE and it recently published an evidenced-based review on the topic, the abstract is given below.
The RCOphth’s main source of income comes from membership subscriptions and unfortunately it does not have the funds to commission research into specific eye conditions. Mr Patton, the lead author on the paper identified below, is willing to conduct further research if funds can be secured.
