Rescue these Lions, Tigers, and other Animals from Abuse in Ensenada, Mexico
The Issue
A few months ago, I went on a cruise from Los Angeles to Ensenada, Mexico on the Carnival Cruise line "Imagination" In Ensenada, recommended to us by the cruise line tour guide, is a restaurant. This restaurant, Habana Banana is located by the famous Bufadora natural geyers, which is a pretty cool natural landmark and unique aspect of Ensenada - it drives tourism. Habana Banana is "home" to a variety of abused and clearly heavily sedated/drugged animals. They offer photo opportunities with you holding lion cubs for ~$20. These cubs are kept in aquarium-sized cages and show obvious signs of neglect and mental trauma. Lots of repetitive and self-destructive behavior. They also have a full grown tiger in a small enclosure, which is heavily sedated at all times. It constantly paced back in forth with it's head down the whole time, very strange repetitive behavior and clearly not a humane environment.I'm sure this establishment brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars, and I'm sure they will not easily be willing to give them up for free. I implore the government on Mexico, Ensenada, and the United States work with animal rights coalitions like PETA to help send these animals to a safe destination such as the Denver Wildlife Animal Sanctuary.Pictures of animals if you scroll down on the images of the facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Habana-Banana-La-Bufadora/203212736447535
