The Issue

Kshamenk was captured in 1992 where Mundo Marino claimed they found him on shore in critical condition. Many theories have been brought up about Kshamenk being forced on shore by people trying to get around laws in Argentina. He is currently 35 years old of the year 2023 and was captured when he was about 4. He had a orca buddy Belen but she died on February 4th if 2000 after birthing a still born in 1998. After Belen’s death it was announced that she was pregnant with a 4 month fetus with kshamenk during the time of her death, this means she never got the ability to birth the calf so Kshamenk remains the only orca in Mundo Marino. Kshamenk tank is less then half the size of the normal orca whale tank size. Not to mention how dirty it is and how hot the water gets. Kshamenk is ether sitting in his pond with dolphins or performing shows for food.
The life of this forgotten orca whale and many other orca life’s are at stake. We can’t ralease them back into the ocean because they have been kept in captivity for to long and won’t be able to fend for themselves. Although several times they considered moving Kshamenk out of Argentina and into the U.S to live with a female orca Shouka who lived alone in six flags. But in 2001 six flags requested that Kshamenk could be flown over there on a breeding loan. Since the Argentina government only owned Mundo Marino and not Kshamenk the export was denied since Kshamenk was native fauna.
But now it’s time to act! So many Animals are living sad lives in captivity. Putting all these animals in captivity shortens their life span and takes away their power to survive in the wild alone. Especially when we keep them in small dirty cages alone without one of their own breed. It might be too late to release all these orcas into the wild, but we can at least transport them and stop taking them into captivity. We can set up shows around their natural habitat and stop trying to tame wild animals and make them our pets. We fought against slavery so how is this any different. We’re taking these animals into our possession like they’re an object. Sigh this petition and share it with your friends so you can make a change.
