Hi, my name is Lise Gervais and on June 16 ish of 2024, I found myself saving two little kits, (Raccoons).
Yesterday on July 12/2024, the MNR came and removed them from my home, it’s was ok as it was my intention is to have them back in the wild, but at the same time they were tamed, with their surrounding.
They help us with our anxiety issues, and now that they are gone, it’s like a member of our family is gone.
I’m asking to please think of what I’m asking for the love of our animals, these raccoons could help a-lot of people with illnesses, to cope with what’s gonna happen or what is happening with their life. Yes you say a cat or dog does that but no, if you didn’t experience a raccoons feeling when they hold you, give you a hug, a kiss, or just that they need to be with you, it’s amazing. But till you haven’t experienced it you can’t say it wouldn’t work as we did and it works.
Me as a person suffer of a bone illness that’s very rare and painful now two years ago I had an accident that I fell on a piece of ice my lower back and I’m in more pain. These raccoon made me forget that I was in pain. They gave me a purpose to get up in the morning to do something, as they need me to do this for them because of that, it’s a therapy that people could enjoy experience that and the happiness that raccoon could give you you cannot judge and not say we cannot have these as pets. Please change the law for these raccoons, let me prove that they are good pets. Let me get back my two little babies to show that they are amazing pets.
We as people would have responsibility to make sure that they are microchip, fix, and vaccinate, to have as pets.
We as people 25 millions of years ago had them as pets so why can’t we have them now.
It would stop the thousands of wildlife raccoons to reproduce as it would be under control with only the breeders.
Thank you, I will fight for them, I will be their voice , I will help them so let’s help me.
