The Order of Canada is the cornerstone of the Canadian Honours System. Presented by the governor general, it recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation.

Since its creation in 1967—Canada’s centennial year—more than 7 600 people from all sectors of society have been invested into the Order. The contributions of these trailblazers are varied, yet they have all enriched the lives of others and made a difference to this country. Their grit and passion inspire us, teach us and show us the way forward. They exemplify the Order’s motto: DESIDERANTES MELIOREM PATRIAM (“They desire a better country”).

Wayne Gretzky, former hockey-player, fair-weather Canadian (when it suits his business interests/purposes) has demonstrated that in supporting MAGA felon/rapist/sociopath and now suspected Russian operative Donald. J. Trump, that he is not worthy of the high honour of the Order of Canada and that it should be rescinded.

Canadians are strong, moral and decent human beings who fought and continue to fight against bigotry, hate, nazism and terror.  Wayne Gretzky, his wife Janet Jones, daughter Paulina Gretzky, son-in-law Dustin Johnson and other members of his family/circle have openly embraced the sick and morbid values of MAGA for years.

They have also supported the criminal, misogynistic, racist and murderous regime of Putin by default - they are traitors to ALL citizens of Canada and to basic human values.

Wayne Gretzky doesn't have the moral fibre, intelligence, decency and character needed to be worthy of such an honour.  His father must be turning in his grave. 

Revoke the Order of Canada from this traitor and turn-coat.
