Rock Creek Valley Elementary prides itself on being a safe and caring community where every child is supported and inspired to make a positive impact on others. Our mission is clear: "all community members will act with kindness and empathy, build strong relationships and intentionally foster wellbeing."

The recent appointment of Andrew Winter as Assistant Principal directly contradicts these core values. Mr. Winter's concerning behavior and documented inability to manage student behavioral issues raise serious concerns about his suitability for this critical role.

This appointment, made without any transparency or community input, disregards the needs and safety of our children. We, the undersigned parents, teachers, and concerned community members, find this decision unacceptable.

Therefore, we demand that Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS):

1. Immediately rescind the appointment of Andrew Winter as Assistant Principal.
2. Initiate a transparent and inclusive selection process with meaningful community involvement.
3. Appoint an Assistant Principal who embodies the values of our school and prioritizes the well-being of our children.
