JCP&L has shown that they have a small footprint within the Township and treat their Wayne customers like second class citizens and have consistently displayed a total disregard for the health, safety and the well being of Wayne customers.  Their lack of reaction to Hurricane Sandy, which as of November 7, 2012 has left more than 50% of these customers without power ten days after Hurricane Sandy moved through New Jersey. We request that JCP&L be forced to sell to another utility that will be more responsive to the needs of their customers.

Letter to
NJ Board of Public Utilities, State Legislature and Governor Christie
To the Members of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, Governor Christie and the New Jersey State Legislature.

We the undersigned do hereby petition the members of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, Governor Christie and the New Jersey State Legislature to remove the franchise to sell energy to residents of the Township of Wayne from First Energy Group d/b/a Jersey Central Power and Light. JCP&L has shown time after time after time, due to the fact that they have a small footprint within the Township that they treat their Wayne customers like second class citizens and have consistently displayed a total disregard for the health, safety and well being of these Wayne customers. Their lack of reaction to Hurricane Sandy, which as of November 7, 2012 has left more than 50% of these customers without power ten days after Hurricane Sandy moved through New Jersey (including three nursing homes, is yet a further example of its lack of timely response to the their Township of Wayne customers. During this same time-frame PSE&G has been able to restore power to 90% of its customers state-wide. We hereby request that JCP&L be forced to sell to another utility that will be more responsive to the needs of their customers.
