It has been brought to our attention that the dates of the Parliament trip are coinciding with the timing of BTEC Psychology examinations. This overlap proves problematic for students who are pursuing this curriculum and also keen on participating in the parliamentary visit. The BTEC Psychology course is substantial in both breadth and depth, requiring ample focus from students. The imperative of thorough preparation for the course is underscored by data from the Department for Education, which shows that a substantial percentage of students nationwide are enrolled in this course. The clash could result in unnecessary stress and split-focus for the students, potentially jeopardising their academic results. Therefore, we urge the responsible authorities to reconsider and reschedule the dates of the Parliament visit to avoid this avoidable conflict of interests. Grant our students the chance to excel in their exams and gain valuable experience from the Parliament visit without having to choose one over the other.
