Rio Grande Fans,

Once again thank you for signing our petition to build the Rio Grande Plan. Please continue to share the petition so we can grow the people who support the Rio Grande Plan. We wouldn’t be sending this update out if we didn’t need help and this is a very IMPORTANT ask.

We need you to contact Erin Mendenhall, Mayor of Salt Lake City, and ask her to publicly support the Rio Grande Plan. The reason we are asking for this today is because other entities have stated they want the plan too but will not act till the Mayor does. Please note that you do not need to be a resident of SLC to contact her. Please consider Emailing, Calling, or Writing.

There are some important meetings for the RGP coming up that we would love to see you show up to and make a public comment:

• August 13th, 2024: Salt Lake City Council Meeting. They will be discussing funding the Green Loop on 500 W. As much as we support the Green Loop we are concerned that building it would make the Rio Grande Plan less likely due to the sunk cost fallacy. So please take some time at 7 pm on the 13th to make a public comment in person or virtually.
• August 16th, 2024: Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will be having their Transportation Commissioning Meeting at 8:30am. We encourage everyone who can make a public comment supporting the Rio Grande Plan to do so.
