Good Afternoon, 

The last few days have been very active with the Rio Grande Plan. As many of you hopefully have seen our Director of Engagement, Frederick Jenny spoke to the Salt Lake County Council on August 6th. His presentation and comments prompted the Council to pass a motion to tentatively support the Rio Grande Plan and to have all future transportation plans consider it within their scope. This was a very big step for us and we want to thank the Council for their vote of confidence in the plan. We are now seeking other government official's to join us as one voice calling for the construction of the Rio Grande Plan. We hope that the Mayor of Salt Lake City Erin Mendenhall will be next.

We are also happy to announce our Reconnecting Communities Event where we will presenting the Rio Grande Plan to the public with the city. This event will done jointly with the City of Salt Lake and will consist of a presentation of the plan along with a question and answer section. Please come join us on September 12th from 6pm to 8pm at the Sorenson Unity Center 1383 South 900 West, Salt Lake City, UT, 84104. We will also have a station set up so you can write a postcard to your elected officials.

Please continue to talk about the Rio Grande Plan with your friends and family and continue to reach out to the Mayor, Governor, and your state elected officials so we can get this project completed before Utah hosts the 2034 Olympics
